Another of Hutch's iconic products from the 1980's, the Aerospeed cranks are almost mythical.These new cranks use the industry-standard 48 spline spindle and the very latest production methods. 175mm arms only, Chrome plated.
'Previously, Hutch Aerospeed cranks were made in the USA using a dozen different suppliers throughout Wisconsin—some of which handled multiple operations at different stages, making logistics a nightmare! When we transitioned to Taiwan for complete bikes, the biggest challenge was convincing the best crank manufacturer there to even attempt this design. Initially, they said, "No way," but we challenged them by stating that we had already produced a thousand sets here. They took the bait and signed up for the challenge.
We had to ship our very heavy die-stamp tool by aeroplane and provided an extremely detailed set of instructions, including diagrams and photos. Not only did they replicate the high-level quality of the Aerospeeds we made in the USA, but they also took it to the next level by implementing a method called hyperbaric welding on the most challenging step. This technique involves welding from the inside out rather than just from the outside.
The result? A far superior product—beyond anything we could have achieved in the States for the bicycle industry. The new Aerospeeds maintain the exact same shape and chrome finish but boast a strength factor that likely surpasses every chromoly crank arm ever produced in BMX’s 50-year history! These cranks have been machine-tested to simulate the riding conditions of a 400 lb rider over 400,000 cycles—with no failures in the crank arms or spindle.

Delivery
All orders we receive before 2PM GMT time will be shipped out the same day. We will always use a tracking service so you can track your order and keep up to date on when to expect your Back Street BMX Store delivery.
Delivery charges vary, depending on the option you choose at checkout.
If it is the first time you have placed an order with Back Street BMX Store, we may require your order to be sent to the registered cardholder's billing address. This is to protect you and Back Street BMX Store against possible card fraud.
Transport Damage
In the unlikely event that your order has been lost or damaged in transit, please report this to the shipping company straight away and then get in touch with us prior to returning your item. Returns
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days of receiving it for a full refund. The items must be returned in a new condition and with the original packaging. If the product has been damaged, used (including any form of bike set-up, e.g. mounting handlebars, cranks, forks etc) or has had the labels/stickers removed, it will not be possible for us to issue a refund.
Exchange
If you wish to exchange an item, you will need to process a return and place a new order, we are unable to hold stock while an exchange is being processed.
Arranging a Return
When returning a product, please include the original packaging. Take care to pack the product correctly to avoid damage during transit. We recommend returning the product using a tracked delivery service to ensure a smooth return. We will issue a full refund within 14 days of receiving the product.
Refunds will be issued using the same means of payment as the original order. We regret that we are not able to cover the cost of returning your item.
